A mile north east of Lanchester, Maiden Law stands on top of a
hill where a crossroads leads to Leadgate, Durham and Annfield Plain.
Maiden Law was a hamlet in the 19th Century and though it grew
in the early 1900s it is still very small.
Relaxing and comfortable are two words that immediately come to
mind in association with this 19th century informal country pub.
Food and Drink
The restaurant has a comprehensive main menu, catering for all
tastes, and the chef takes great pride in providing a daily range
of 'specials'. The warm and welcoming bar also offers an excellent
range non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
Around and About
Local attractions include Beamish, Britain's favourite open air
museum, set in over 300 acres of beautiful countryside, which vividly
recreates life in the North of England in the early 1800s and 1900s.
Durham City, dominated by the three towers of the Cathederal and
the Castle, is located less than 10 miles away. |
